TMK enterprises do not have any significant negative impact on biodiversity, the Company still takes biodiversity conservation. Aiming to safeguard the environment in its regions of operation, the Company contributes to the projects and programs protecting animals and plants.
To restore ecosystems and natural wildlife habitats, every closure of waste disposal facilities is followed by land remediation.TMK participates in projects for restoring aquatic biological resources in the regions where it operates. Three enterprises (Taganrog Metallurgical Plant, Pervouralsk Pipe Plant, and Volzhsky Pipe Plant) hold annual environmental initiatives to release sturgeon fry into the Volga River and the Azov-Black Sea Fishery Basin, as well as carp fry into the Volchikhinskoye Reservoir, in order to restore their populations.
The project considers the life cycle and favorable conditions for the release and adaptation of fish in their natural habitat.
We are implementing various preventive and compensatory measures to conserve biodiversity in TMK’s regions of operation. These include, among other things, biodiversity monitoring and fish stocking. PNTZ’s cooperation with the Visim State Biosphere Nature Reserve is an example of a partnership project dealing with biodiversity research and conservation within the protected area. TAGMET specialists also conduct biodiversity monitoring, observing aquatic biological resources in the Taganrog Bay of the Sea of Azov.
