TMK joins the Council of Industrial Partners at the Hydrogen Technology consortium

TMK attended the first meeting of the Council of Industrial Partners at the Technological Hydrogen Valley consortium. The council is one of the governance bodies of the consortium focused on defining the focus areas of hydrogen technology development in Russia.

The R&D consortium for hydrogen technology development was founded in November 2020 at the initiative of the university and academic communities with support from the government and given the interest from the industry. The consortium is being built as a neutral platform to define a common concept for hydrogen technology development through a joint effort by stakeholders in the process: research institutions, manufacturers and relevant government agencies. Its governance bodies are the Supervisory Board, Council of Industrial Partners and Coordinating Council.

An online meeting of the Council of Industrial Partners discussed the consortium’s structure and priorities, common plans for the nearest future, achievements of industrial companies in hydrogen technology, as well as hydrogen initiatives of research and academic member organizations of the consortium.

“Hydrogen technology development is a global trend, and the Russian manufacturing industry should play a prominent role in creating a global hydrogen energy market. This requires collaborative efforts between the academic community, industry and government authorities, so we are pleased to join the Hydrogen Technology consortium. As a supplier of technology-driven products for the Russian energy industry, TMK has also charted its roadmap for development in this area. We are ready to develop and supply pipe solutions using next-generation steel for the pipelines of gas processing facilities producing hydrogen, hydrogen trunk pipelines and other elements of infrastructure. We have the required capabilities to address this task, which are concentrated within TMK and Sinara Group’s R&D facility in Skolkovo,” said Sergey Chikalov, TMK’s Deputy CEO for Technological Development and Technical Sales.
