Working jointly with the leading Russian suppliers of flat rolled steel, including Severstal, allows TMK to constantly improve the production of new types of highly durable and corrosion resistant pipes for the needs of the Russian oil and gas market.
Decisions regarding deliveries of thick-sheet highly durable rolled steel for Mill 2520 of VTZ, which produces large-diameter thick-walled pipes for long distance gas pipelines, were adopted at the meeting of the Coordination Council. Participants in the meeting also discussed issues related to deliveries of hot-rolled skelp.
According to Dmitri Goroshkov, Sales Director of OAO “Severstal,” “pipe producers are key partners for us, and TMK is definitely our most important client in this sector. We clearly see possibilities of increasing Severstal’s share in supplying flat rolled steel to TMK.”
The next regular meeting of the Coordination Council is scheduled for early 2007.
