Resita Works renamed

At an Extraordinary General Shareholders Meeting of SC C.S.R. SA (city of Resita, Romania), a subsidiary of TMK, a decision was adopted to rename the plant SC TMK-Resita SA. The change was registered with the State on 1 September 2006. The decision was adopted in order to ensure the formation and strengthening of the single TMK corporate brand, as well as to promote the brand on the world market.

In March 2006 TMK acquired 100% of the charter capital of Sinara Handel GmbH, which owns a controlling stake in two Romanian companies: SC TMK-ARTROM SA Pipe Plant (city of Slatina) and SC TMK-Resita SA Metallurgical Works (city of Resita).

TMK-ARTROM specializes in the production of seamless pipes. The works in Resita has the capacity to produce 500,000 metric tons of electric arc furnace steel and 700,000 metric tons of rolled steel.
