Assembly of continuous casting machine begun at OJSC Taganrog Metallurgical Works
Assembly of the casting platform metal structures of a continuous steel-casting machine complex has begun at OJSC TAGMET, an affiliate of TMK, which is due to be put into operation in the III quarter of 2006. Work to commission a continuous casting machine distribution substation is already underway at the enterprise, and the reconstruction of the mould yard and scale settling tank with crane trestle is being completed. The launch of the continuous casting machine will enable OJSC TAGMET to increase its output of high-quality metal, automate the steel-casting process and raise the ecological safety level of steel production. The outlay of up to 1 billion rubles is planned within the framework of the investment project to construct a continuous casting machine at the enterprise in 2006.
