New General Director appointed at TMK

TMK Group, one of the world’s leading producers of steel pipes for the oil and gas sector, today announces that its Board of Directors has named Mr Konstantin Semerikov as General Director. Mr Semerikov takes over this role from Mr Dmitry Pumpyansky, who will become Chairman of the Group. These appointments were approved by the Group Board of Directors on June 30th 2005 and will become effective from July 1st 2005.

Commenting on his appointment, Mr Semerikov said “The management team at TMK has an outstanding track record and, as General Director, I am determined to continue the Group’s growth in production capacity and in margins. The strategy of the company up to 2010 is focused on expanding our global presence, on service development and on value creation for our customers”

Mr Pumpyansky said “On behalf of the Board of Directors of TMK I welcome Mr. Semerikov to this new position. Since 2001 TMK has established itself as the number two in the global steel pipe sector; building on these achievements, our new management structure will enhance our strategic focus and maintain our commitment to value-added production.”

As Chairman, Mr Pumpyansky will continue to play a major role in the company’s strategic decision-making, while Mr Semerikov will have overall responsibility for the management of the company. The Board of Directors of TMK believes that this new allocation of responsibilities will best meet the needs of the company in its current phase of development.

Mr Semerikov joined TMK Group in 2003. At TMK he has been Deputy Chief Engineer, a Deputy General Director for Production, Chief Operating Officer and since June 2004 has been General Director of the TMK Trade House.. He has over 20 years of experience of the steel pipe industry and previously held managerial positions at Taganrog Metallurgical Works.
