Recrystallization

Glossary

Recrystallization

The process of generating and growing new grains, or grain growth only in the deformed polycrystalline metal or alloy, due to other grains of the same phase, which leads to an increase in the structural perfection and restoration of properties back to their non-deformed state. The types of recrystallization are primary, collective, and secondary.
