TMK launches production of pipe made from unique TMK-C alloy

TMK, one of the world’s leading producers of tubular products for the oil and gas industry, has become the first Russian manufacturer to start the production of casing pipe made from the corrosion-resistant chromium-nickel alloy TMK-C. The first batch of 110 grade TMK-C pipe with TMK UP PF highly gas-tight premium threaded connections was produced at TAGMET and shipped to LUKOIL.

TMK developed the TMK-C alloy to manufacture pipe used in well construction at oil and gas fields producing hydrocarbons with particularly high hydrogen sulfide (H2S) and carbon dioxide (CO2) content and partial pressure. Previously, pipe from this type of alloy had only been produced abroad.

“TMK is consistently focused on launching production of new, hi-tech innovative products and expanding the range of unique pipes offered to our customers. Our new TMK-C alloy is yet another step in replacing imported equipment with domestic counterparts. Russian oil and gas companies can now benefit from our offering of reliable and competitive products for fields with high H2S and CO2 content,” said Sergey Chikalov, Vice President for Technical Sales and Innovation at TMK.
