TMK takes part in OTC 2017
TMK, one of the world’s leading producers of tubular products for the oil and gas industry, took part in the 49th International Offshore Technology Conference (OTC). The annual event was held on 1–4 May 2017 at NRG Park in Houston, Texas, USA.
OTC is one of the key events in the oil and gas sector, shaping the development of the offshore energy industry in hydrocarbon drilling, exploration and production, and in environmental protection. This year, 2,470 companies from 43 countries showcased their products across more than 55 thousand square meters of exhibit space. Overall attendance reached almost 65 thousand.
TMK’s booth in the main exhibition hall showcased the full range of TMK UP premium threaded connections, used for oil and gas wells operating in adverse conditions, including offshore projects. Visitors could also see the latest completion tools offered by TMK Completions, part of TMK Oilfield Services. An interactive display introduced visitors to the Company’s pipe production technologies and the entire range of its products.
Representatives of TMK IPSCO, the American division of TMK, made technical lectures at TMK’s booth and presentations at OTC panels, highlighting to customers the benefits of TMK’s latest products for the oil and gas industry. As is tradition for the OTC week, TMK hosted a reception for its partners. In his welcome address to the Company’s clients, Piotr Galitzine, TMK IPSCO Chairman and Chief Executive Officer (CEO), noted a continued recovery in the oil and gas market and an increased adoption of innovations: “We are growing our customer base, including through new products. In particular, the new threaded connection specifically designed for heavy-oil SAGD applications we introduced to the market has immediately gained traction.”
